I am writing today to tell you a little about our Professional Golf Academy housed at the University of Gloucestershire (England, UK). UDA offers the opportunity to play golf year round in our Professional Golf Academy while earning a degree at an accelerated-rate.
Open to both male and female students, the academy provides an opportunity for students to play in private competition and for the University of Gloucestershire. Additionally, our student athletes get to play some of the world’s most renowned championship courses. Here’s a bit more information about UDA’s Professional Golf Academy:
About the UDA Professional Golf Academy
UDA offers the opportunity to play golf year round in our Professional Golf Academy while earning your degree at an accelerated-rate. Open to both male and female students, the academy provides an opportunity for students to play in private competitions, and for the University of Gloucestershire, and at some of the world’s most renowned championship courses.
Our Professional Golf Academy offers our student athletes:
World-class PGA coaching for all UDA-Golf Academy student athletes
Potential to represent the University of Gloucestershire in British University and College Sport (BUCS) events
Year round playing season (September to May). Summer event options also available
Individual coaching sessions with top PGA golf professionals
One (1), on course group session per month with a PGA professional
Membership at the Cotswold Golf Club for year round playing privileges
Play at two (2) world-class courses (per year) that have hosted the British Open in the past and will in the future such as: Royal Lytham & St Ann's, Royal Birkdale, The Belfry or Celtic Manor
Relevant insurance, student membership fees and BUCS entry fees
UDA golf shirts and golf bag
*Note: Students with higher handicaps will be able to compete in club level competitions at the Cotswold Hills Golf Club and surrounding area courses.
*Note: Student athletes that participate in our golf academy will also have the opportunity to compete at Ryder Cup and European Tour Championship Courses.
In addition, student participants in the UDA Professional Golf Academy will also be provided with the academy’s signature strength, conditioning and nutrition workshops that include:
Two (2) sessions per week with the University of Gloucestershire S & C Team
Psychology and performance lifestyle support for improved performance
One (1) session per month to develop individual practice and performance improvement sessions (face to face and Skype sessions) with Dr. Zack Gold
Three (3) one-on-one sessions with a qualified Nutritionist
